THE ROLE
This is an excellent opportunity for an intermediate level Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineer with 2+ years’ experience to join a large Design team undertaking a wide range of complex and technical design for capital equipment and machinery. With a strong Engineering and Design leadership team in place, quality senior engineers working alongside you and a range of challenging project assignments work on, you will be well placed to grow and develop your capability.
The core focus of this role is the continued design of world class products that meet business targets. You will research, discuss and compile accurate, detailed drawings for the manufacture of equipment within specified time frames. You will ensure product manufacturing is to design requirements. You will design solutions to resolve warranties within specified time frames.
SKILLS
Ideally you will have a several of the following attributes:
- Advanced knowledge and skill in mechanical design and electronics as it relates to machinery and mechatronics.
- Competent in assessing the strength and stiffness of mechanical and structural systems. Including determining design loads from standards, using assumptions to create FBD’s or models, calculating member loads and stresses by hand calculations or beam models.
- Possess expertise in machine design in a relevant organisation / industry.
- Superior Inventor solid modelling skills and experience
- Superior computer skills including CAD solid modelling
- Must be able to work in a team and foster collaborative working relationships across the organisation as well as support less experienced staff members.
- Proven design for manufacture experience
- Able to communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing
- Capable of working independently, and having responsibility as an individual
- Ability to follow prescribed processes
- Intuitiveness to be able to quickly assess situations and act decisively and effectively
- Proven ability to work meet deadlines in a multi-tasking environment
Qualifications
- Relevant professional qualification(s) in mechanical or mechatronics engineering or extensive practical experience.
