They cover a diverse range of sectors including transport, infrastructure, water, energy, land development and quarrying. 

THE ROLE

Fulton Hogan is looking to attract an additional Senior Data Engineer into their growing BI & Analytics team.  Preferably based in Christchurch in their head office IT team, there are several exciting current and future IT initiatives throughout Australasia which you will be involved in.  You will help deliver new features and subject areas into their Enterprise Data Platform, helping Fulton Hogan migrate from prem to Azure (cloud), and provide inputs in BAU and project activities.  There are currently 9 key subject areas throughout the business that the team deliver to.

The technical environment is the Microsoft stack – SQL, Analysis services, Power BI, MDS, and Jira/Confluence.  Core systems are JDE, Workday, Force.com, Maximo, RAMM and many other smaller systems many developed in the Salesforce platform.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE

To be successful in this role we are looking for a person with several of the following skills and knowledge:

• Minimum 5+ years commercial experience
• Proven commercial DW & DAX experience.
• Proven experience working with Microsoft BI development tools, Tabular models, and Power BI
• Exposure and knowledge Kimball methodology or similar
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and proven troubleshooting skills
• Ability to understand the type of data and its structure that will help enhance business users decisions.
• Excellent communication (both verbal and written).
