Our client is a New Zealand owned multinational group of companies.   These newly created roles are based in Christchurch at their Head Office and sits within their IT Team. 

Overview of Project Manager ERP

Reporting to the ERP Programme Manager, the core of this role is your project planning capability and co-ordination.  You will be responsible for ensuring the overall project plan and programme of work is always up to date.  The Programme Manager needs you to always have your finger on the pulse of the project and to be on top of the day-to-day detail of the overall Programme of work.  You will work closely with up to seven Project Managers on this large ERP project, consolidating and maintaining their project plans into the overall programme plan. 

The project is expected to run for 3-4 years, which will have a significant impact of the organisation and its operations.  You will be a go-to person for the project, so you will need to be organised, have strong computer skills and have the ability to prioritise your workload.

You will be comfortable supporting the Programme Manager with administrative tasks, which include arranging meetings, taking minutes, reporting, project financials, maintaining project documentation and the overall programme plan.

 

Overview of Project Manager – Service Delivery / Consulting

Reporting to the Group Service Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the review, assessment, systems selection and implementation of a specialised Asset Management software solution.  This initial project is expected to run for 1-2 years.

The core to the role is Project Management, but you will also need good Business Consulting skills.  The ability to bring together the opinions and direction of relevant ideas to shape the direction and  agreement on an appropriate solution.


Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities of both roles include:

  • Day to day management of the overall programme plan and consolidating all projects plans progress into it.
  • Planning, analysing, and budget management.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation including project schedules, status reports, presentations, resource plans, meeting schedules, and notes.
  • Ability to assess project risks and issues and provide a solution where applicable
  • Document, monitor, and track process improvement tasks throughout the project.
  • Organize and facilitate periodic stakeholders, status meetings, i.e., weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly meetings.
  • Organize and coordinate technical and functional training at specified times during the implementation, according to the Project Timeline Plan, draft and support communication efforts as needed.
  • Other as-needed related project administrative tasks.

 

Your Skills and Knowledge

Ideally you will have been in IT application Project Coordination or Project Management functions before.  Core skills and knowledge we are looking for include:

  • Experience working in applications or ERP implementation or similar projects
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Projects
  • The ability to successfully influence outcomes and manages day-to-day stakeholder interaction.
  • Ability to identify and interpret complex problems, find opportunities within the problems, and deliver tangible outcomes.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand a new business environment.
  • Demonstrated skill in all aspects of Project Management.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain project documentation including project schedules, status reports, presentations, resource plans, meeting schedules, and notes
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage day-to-day aspects of IT operation projects regarding scope, schedule, resources, and budget
