THE ROLE

Reporting to the Regional Manager ANZ, you will provide effective, visible leadership and direction to the company’s operational staff located at the Dunedin manufacturing site.  Working closely with your four management reports, your focus on quality and continuous improvement will help drive Scott Technology’s Dunedin operations forward, optimising manufacturing and overall business performance.

You will be responsible for the successful management of project and other work allocated or undertaken within the Dunedin Operations site.  You will ensure the plant, facilities, equipment, and personnel are effectively utilised to maximise efficiencies.

Overall objectives are to complete projects on schedule and within budget, be responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the Dunedin engineering and manufacturing functions.  Ensuring the technical input to project engineering is in accordance with project objectives.

 

YOU

You will have a real passion for working in the manufacturing environment and a proven track record in managing teams.  You must be able to influence, effectively lead and help your staff motivate themselves in working as a team to produce optimum production output.

Key attributes you will bring include:

  • Tertiary qualification; preferably in mechanical engineering, operations, production, or business management, or alternatively several years’ experience leading a production team.
  • A background within manufacturing and production operations ideally in high value capital equipment
  • A strong understanding of best practice and continuous improvement tools such as Lean, 5S & TOC.
  • Highly developed planning and organisational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs.
  • Financial acumen and P+L Management.
  • Health and Safety ownership
