A combination of changes and expansion mean there is a unique and appealing vacancy for a high calibre Maintenance Engineer to bring the changes in this dynamic organisation.
Working with the Network Asset Management plan, the aim of this role is to take what is already an impressive reliability record to the next level. In order to make this happen we need someone able to bring a smart, strategic approach to the management and maintenance of a large and diverse network of assets. This requires a professional willing to refine the ground rules, analyse the figures and, combining this information with their experience, develop an effective strategy of proactive asset management.
The second part of the equation is about action. You will work with the design team to ensure your strategies are translated into detailed programs designs, specifications and instructions to be delivered to the work teams. You will keep in touch with them, monitoring progress, responding to queries and advising as necessary to see your work come to life. Any feedback from this process will be gathered and incorporated to improve the future.
Both components of this role are very interactive - liaising with internal team members, consultants, external contractors and the numerous suppliers, compliance parties and other utilities.
You will need to possess a very good experience and knowledge of electrical utilities assets from high voltage transformers to final connection hardware. You will have a thorough awareness of the inherent challenges, costs, design options and practicalities of providing a first class energy distribution facility.
- Depending on your experience we will require anything from a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (NDE) or NZCE to a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) or BE/B.Eng. (Electrical).
- A minimum of two years' experience with Heavy Electrical systems or Distribution covering construction, maintenance and management.
- Corresponding knowledge of NZ or similar Electrical Codes of Practice, standards and supply regulations.
- A clean and valid driver's licence.
- Good computer skills (MS Office Suite).
- Experience with Maximo or Technology One / Tech1 could be useful.
- Clear and confident written and spoken communications.
